Failing education systems, move from outright racism to institutional racism, the privatization of the prison system, how all three tie together and lie at the root of the major issues in major urban areas, with an increase in gun violence and the like. Nothing has really changed, it’s just been dressed up differently. And let’s not discuss the increase in artists who get deals, who have absolutely no talent whatsoever, over other artists with an overabundance of talent and appeal.

There’s plenty of issues to speak on, the artists with enough appeal and a large enough name won’t do it though. Or at least not on a large enough scale. I’m not going to go as far as to say that it’s their job to do so, but it would be nice to see a few use that platform, like others did in the past.
